Software, and the systems businesses run on

Portforge is a software company that also imports and sells the hardware its customers run that software on. Everything offered here is already being done inside the business.

Web applications and operational software, designed, built and maintained by the same engineer who answers for them. The proof is not a portfolio page: GearDockGH is live, ImportBrain is in early access, and both were built here. Where a build is not what you need, the same experience is available as advice on the software you already run.

Outside engagements

A few client builds a year, taken deliberately

Portforge is a products company first. A small number of outside engineering engagements are taken each year — when the fit is right and the scope is honest.

What fits

Operational web software: order and inventory systems, dashboards, admin panels, tools for import and retail businesses. The kind of software Portforge already runs on its own products.

What doesn't

No white-label agency work, and no promise of scale that cannot honestly be kept. Portforge takes on work it can finish — and says so plainly when a job needs more than that.

How an engagement runs

Agreed in writing, before anything is built

Describe the problem, get an initial assessment and then a written scope and price, see working software in increments, and end with the code, the documentation and a number that answers.

Have something specific in mind?

Write and describe it. An initial assessment within one working day — a scope and a price when the work is simple, or a short discovery call first when it is not. If it does not fit, you will be told plainly.
